چکیده
Plasmonic heating finds multiple applications in cell manipulation and stimulation, where heat generated by metal nanoparticles can be used to modify adhesion, control membrane currents, suppress neuronal action potentials among others. Metal also easily integrated artificial extracellular matrices provide tunable, thermal cueing functionalities with nanometer spatial resolution. In this contribution, we present a platform enabling the combination of plasmonic localized temperature sensing using quantum dots (QDs). Specifically, functional nanocomposite material was designed gold nanorods (AuNRs) QDs incorporated cell-permissive hydrogel (e.g., collagen) as well an optical set-up combining imaging, respectively. Specific area stimulation/readout realized through structured illumination digital micromirror device (DMD) projection.

متن کاملPolymersomes containing quantum dots for cellular imaging
Quantum dots (QDs) are highly fluorescent and stable probes for cellular and molecular imaging. However, poor intracellular delivery, stability, and toxicity of QDs in biological compartments hamper their use in cellular imaging. To overcome these limitations, we developed a simple and effective method to load QDs into polymersomes (Ps) made of poly(dimethylsiloxane)-poly(2-methyloxazoline) (PD...

Cell-penetrating peptides (CPPs) can facilitate uptake of quantum dots (QDs) for a variety of basic and applied sciences. Here we describe a method that utilizes simple noncovalent interactions to complex QDs and CPPs. We further describe methods to study uptake mechanisms of the QD/CPP complex. The inhibitor study coupled with the RNA interference (RNAi) technique provides a comprehensive appr...
